Fitz and the Tantrums at Ace of Spades

Fitz and The Tantrums came to visit Sacramento at the ever-popular music venue, Ace of Spades, last Tuesday, July 30, for their “More Than Just a Dream” tour. “Out Of My League” has been gaining popularity since it was released in April 2013. Although Ace of Spades was jam-packed with Sacramentans dying to see this soulful rock ‘n’ roll duo, Noelle Scaggs and Michael Fitzpatrick were going hard on the mic and showing us that Fitz and The Tantrums are indeed creating a league of their own with their amazing stage presence.

Their stage presence alone is a great indicator of all the love and hard work they put into their music. The entire night was nonstop dancing and interacting with the audience. If you are a huge Fitz and The Tantrums fan, you should definitely see them live because after seeing this show, simply listening to their music on iTunes doesn’t give them justice. You can read more about their “More Than Just a Dream” tour on Yahoo!, which recently did an exclusive interview with Fitz and The Tantrums.

Their soulful yet rocker sound is a pleasant change for Sacramento, which is primarily consumed by radio music and rap. “MoneyGrabber” was definitely a crowd-pleaser during their night in Sacramento, and is something refreshing for listeners who are getting excited for Sacramento’s Launch Music Festival. Gold Fields and Family of the Year are great bands to look out for if you enjoyed Fitz at Ace of Spades!

Fitz and The Tantrums are still touring and will be opening with Bruno Mars for his “Moonshine” tour. They are also currently doing a campaign with The People’s Movement, an ecologically conscious footwear brand, to fight against single-use plastics. You can check out this philanthropic movement here on Facebook.

You can check out more on my Vine account (username: Tori Kobayashi), which features videos I snapped from their Sacramento show, to get a taste of what it’s like to attend a Fitz and The Tantrums concert.
