
The Sacramento Shakespeare Festival, produced by the Sacramento City College Theatre Arts Department, bounced back from last season’s theft of essential lighting and sound equipment to mount a pair of well-received 2013 offerings.
In keeping with recent trends, the plays ("Julius Caesar," "Twelfth Night") presented in repertory this summer on the William A. Carroll Amphitheatre stage in William Land Park featured more-contemporary settings and costume choices, gender-bending, and – in the case of "Twelfth Night" – a disco beat even the Bard could never have imagined.
