Santa Claus came to town during the annual Sacramento Santa Parade.
Since 1983 Santa has been the featured float of the parade that has come to draw around 25,000 spectators to downtown Sacramento.

The Dec. 14 parade was lined with families who waited in somewhat frigid temperatures. Traditional and unconventional floats offered something for everyone along the route.

Spectators were treated to local law enforcement floats featuring Sacramento police, fire fighter and K-9 units among others.

Many Boy and Girl Scouts were also included as part of the parade.

The 31st Santa Parade also featured marching bands, clowns, community groups, beauty pageant winners, cheer squads, horses, and different kind of vehicles.

The Santa Parade spirit kept everyone warm and it was a great outing for many families who met other friends. “I love this parade. I loved the horses, golden retrievers and I saw a clown who shook my hand,” said 11-year-old Trevor. The excitement of the little boy was quite noticeable as he jumped and pointed at each float as it passed by.
The last float of the parade included Mr. and Mrs. Santa who waved, not from a traditional sleigh but from the back of a 1954 Packard convertible from the California Automobile Museum.
