What started as a fight in the park, has now turned into a homicide investigation at Crocker Park.
At the time of this posting, the entire Crocker Park is taped off as a crime scene as officers piece together what transpired between two reported combatants in the middle of the park.
“This call came out at 6:51 p.m. We received a call from a male subject that a male-on-male fight was going on here in Crocker Park,” said Lieutenant Alisa Buckley, Sacramento Police Department.
“Officers found a male victim down on the ground and unresponsive, and another male subject in the vicinity that they detained,” said Buckley.
The victim was transported to an area hospital under CPR which was started at the scene by the first responding officers.

Sacramento PD Detectives have arrested Arthur Bird, 40, for murder related to last night’s homicide. Bird was located by officers in the area of the unresponsive victim and is believed to be responsible for the deadly physical assault. The victim and suspect were known to each other and no other individuals are believed to have been involved.
