Perfect for the long and lazy days of summer, the Midtown Association has plenty of playful, light-hearted and family-friendly activations planned for the Midtown Farmers Market in July.  Sutter Health’s Midtown Farmers Market presented by SMUD is always bursting with fresh fruit and produce, gourmet or locally made products and artisan goods, the open-air market is available year-round with spring/summer hours now in effect from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To make the market easy to navigate – given it now spans five city blocks – destinations are identified by themed offerings such as Artisan Alley presented by IKEA, Boutique Boulevard, Market Square, Merchant Market presented by Shopoff Realty Investments, Producers Plaza, Savory Street, and the Street Food Sacramento block.

A sampling of some of the special activations happening in July at the Midtown Farmers Market includes the following, all taking place in Market Square (20th & K Streets):

Saturday, July 6

  •  8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Interactive, fun and free games plus some sweet swag provided by IKEA.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Entertaining live music by singer/songwriter John Alan Connerley.

Saturday, July 13 – Midtown Second Saturday

  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – The GOAT Yoga will bring their crowd-favorite goats to add a playful presence and petting zoo to the Market.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Energetic live music with the jazzy vibes of Sacramento’s very own SOCK band.

Saturday, July 20

  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Shoppers can get their game on with Tipsy Putt, offering fun for all ages with interactive yard games and mini golf.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Live music by Rumba Flamenco Jazz Guitarist David Perry Molina.

Saturday, July 27

In addition, the 16th Annual America’s Farmland Celebration by American Farmland Trust is now underway, which invites voters nationwide to choose their favorite Farmers Market in America. Last year, the Midtown Farmers Market proudly ranked 3rd in California and, with the help of an engaged community, is vying for the top spot this year. The deadline to cast votes is by July 31 via this link.

Owned and managed by the Midtown Association, the Midtown Farmers Market continues to grow and evolve to reflect the thriving and eclectic tastes of the surrounding neighborhood. Spanning five city blocks, the Midtown Farmers Market lies in the heart of Midtown at 20th & K Streets.
