Verge Center for the Arts is proud to offer a dynamic and new Verge Fair, a three-day art market designed to build a bridge between local artists and art lovers. The inaugural Verge Fair is scheduled for Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23, 2021, and is open to the public each day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Verge Fair is a hybrid, in-person and virtual event that includes art lectures, artist Q&As, and live stream performances as well as curated selection of art for sale in both a silent auction and on-site retail space at Verge Center for the Arts (625 S Street in Downtown Sacramento). The Fair is Verge’s spring fundraiser, with proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships supporting the center along with 50 percent of all artwork sales going directly back to working local artists. With safety measures in place, the Verge Fair will offer timed entry to accommodate occupancy guidelines, ensure physical distancing, and allow all guests to enjoy a comfortable retail experience.

“The year-long pandemic has hit the local artist community especially hard,” said Liv Moe, Founding Director, Verge Center for the Arts. “The all-new Verge Fair offers an opportunity for the community to celebrate and support our local artists while showcasing the vitality and creativity of the local arts scene that is very much alive and thriving throughout the Sacramento region.”

To kick off the Verge Fair, a DJ set from vinyl club Hella Groove is scheduled on Thursday evening, May 20. Then to close out the event, an artist panel discussion will be available on Sunday evening, May 23, focused specifically on clay as a medium and the popularity of ceramics. Timing for both virtual events will be announced at a later date and streamed live via Zoom and Verge’s Facebook page.

Presented by Ravel Rasmussen Properties & Separovich Domich Real Estate, Verge Fair is offered in partnership with Amatoria Fine Art Books, Awkward Ladies Club, Beers Books, Donum Estate, Holland Project, Kasbah, Magpie Alchemy, Myrtle Press, Sacramento is Dead, University of Beer, and West Elm. With sponsorships still available, Verge Fair individual tickets cost $25 per person and can be  purchased in advance at www.classy.org/event/verge-fair-2021/e328329 (tickets may also be available at the door, space permitting). More information about the all-new Verge Fair (including an event schedule) or Verge Center for the Arts in general is available at www.vergeart.com.
