Rolling Loud is Taking Over Northern California

September has come to a close and fall festival season is officially upon us, as Rolling Loud Festival, a new hip-hop focused music festival series, makes its way to Northern California. The first edition of Rolling Loud will be hosted October 21-22, at the Shoreline Festival Grounds in Mountain View, CA. Headliners for this festival include Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Schoolboy Q & Kodak Black.

Comparable to the Observatory OC’s Day N’ Nite Festival, Rolling Loud is claiming to become the largest hip-hop festival in the world teasing dates in Southern California, Miami and hoping to go international as the festival progresses. Hip-hop has been having better years with more artists focusing on their album and live tours.

Among the headliners, Travis Scott, a rapper and songwriter from Houston, Texas, has been busy the past two years with the releases of his debut album, Rodeo, in September 2015, and his second studio album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, a year later. Travis Scott just wrapped up touring with Kendrick Lamar on his DAMN. tour, and announced that he will be dropping a collar album project, AstroWorld, with Quavo, from the Migos. Hopefully, the rapper may debut some new music with his headlining performance!

Some of the rising talent on the scene includes acts like Kodak Black, 21 Savage and Playboi Carti. Kodak Black is a 20 year-old rapper from Florida, who has been taking the hip-hop scene by storm. His singles “No Flockin” and “Tunnel Vision” helped Black establish himself in the hip-hop game. 21 Savage, an Atlanta based rapper, released his debut studio album earlier this year, Issa Album, which debuted number 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart with hits like “Bank Account”, “No Heart” and “X” featuring Future. Playboi Carti is known for his melodic, heavy hitting sound. Cart released his self titled debut mixtape in April 2017 and has been gaining a lot of attention since then with his single “Magnolia”.
