Arguably the greatest on-going music series in Sacramento, Concerts in the Park returns for a brief showing on March 30 to reveal this year’s official lineup of concerts at Cesar Chavez Park.
Thursday’s “Lunch + Launch”, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be the first taste of the popular summer series, open to all ages and of course, free of charge. Produced by Downtown Sacramento Partnership, this year’s grand reveal is expected to be a live and “very visual-lineup reveal,” scheduled for 12:10 p.m.
Heading into its 26th year, the summer concert series at Cesar Chavez Park has seen some of Sacramento’s greatest talents, from Cake and Arden Park Roots to Deftones and Blackalicious, among its most unique and locally favored artists. Just about every genre has graced the stage at Concerts in the Park.
The ever-satisfying Drewski’s and It’s Nacho Truck will be on hand to serve the hungry lunch crowd, while DJ Joseph ONE provides all the crowd-pleasing joints in anticipation of the grand reveal. In addition to the events on stage, guests are encouraged to share their favorite memories from the past 25 years of Concerts in the Park with an inscription on the “wall of love.”
Concerts in the Park will officially begin on May 5 and continue every Friday through July 21.
