Art in Unexpected Places…Another Dumpster Art-Wrap Unveiled in Midtown

As a follow-up to a creative pilot project launched a year ago, beautification efforts continue as another dumpster art-wrap debuted in Midtown.

Sponsored by Waste Management, the latest “wrapped” dumpster is located in Powerhouse Alley with a brand new creative design to showcase the bike-friendly nature of Sacramento’s urban core.

In addition to this latest dumpster art-wrap, another will follow in a separate location in the near future. Midtown guests, residents and business owners – such as Hot Italian, Insight Coffee Roasters, Magpie Café and Orchid Thai for example – benefit by beautification projects by increasing the use and vibrancy of alleys and other often overlooked areas.

The goal of the ongoing project is to uplift and activate alleyways in Midtown by presenting art in unexpected places. The project, which piloted early last March in a partnership between the Midtown Association and 16 Powerhouse, started as an innovative way to beautify alleyways in an effort to foster community pride, increase safety and encourage the use of underutilized spaces.
