Seasonal & Sustainable: Wild Flour Cafe Grand Opening This ThursdayRain or shine, come and dine! Wild Flour Cafe, a premier casual cafe will open its first location in downtown Sacramento with a formal ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 12 at 10:30AM at 1430 14th Street. Councilmember Steve Hansen will officiate the ribbon cutting ceremony and the cafe will supply free samples of its delectable biscuits and scones.

Located one block south of Capitol Park, the cafe will offer a 10% lunch discount to state employees who show their I.D. badges during the entire grand opening week.

Wild Flour Cafe offers healthy, reasonably-priced breakfast and lunch options for downtown workers and residents.  The full menu is always available so you can have an omelet for lunch or a hamburger for breakfast!  The cafe stays true to Sacramento’s Farm-to-Fork movement using organic and local ingredients whenever possible and changing its menu according to what’s in season.

“At Wild Flour Cafe we believe in sustainable healthy eating,” said Wild Flour owner, Era Sellen, of her cafe’s concept. “Our name sprung (pardon the pun) from wanting a beautiful name that conveyed the choices we make in our menu to serve locally-sourced and organic whenever possible.”

Continuing, Sellen explained that “Wild” refers to our grass-fed beef with no added hormones and wild caught fish from Sunh. The spelling of “Flour” is meant evoke their offering of artisanal baked goods rather than the use of prepackaged goods.

“Our menu changes according to what ingredients are in season ensuring mouth-watering local flavor like no other region can offer,” said Sellen. “We are also proud servers of Grateful bread, Vega Farms eggs, and Idaho-farmed smoked trout.”

Don’t forget that you can order ahead giving you more time to enjoy your food and peruse the artwork on display, which will feature various local artists.  You can also place orders to-go, inquire about catering, or order for delivery (for orders over $100).
