Insight Coffee Adds Beer, Chocolate and a Location

insight coffee

Starting out the new year on a right foot, Insight Coffee Roasters just opened their fifth location, added beer to one location, and added local craft chocolate to all.

The newest location has been long awaited for Insight followers at Carmichael’s new Milagro Centre. Artisan coffee is not the norm in the residential neighborhood of Carmichael so it’s a welcomed addition to the city, right along with the other restaurants and new businesses moving into the shopping center.

This location is not a stand-alone shop, but rather a coffee bar that shares seating with Ghiotto Gelato (who uses Insight’s coffee for their affogatos) and the center’s impressive outdoor covered seating that includes a fireplace and a fountain.

Beer-loving residents in another Sacramento neighborhood will cheer to hear that their Southside location is now serving beer by local brewer Bike Dog. Beer options includes two coffee-beer collaborations, a Saison, and an Insight Coffee Stout, an IPA using our Rwandan Nyamasheke.

And not to leave the chocolate lovers out, all their locations have added Central America-sourced and locally-made Cru Chocolate to their menu. Guests can enjoy the chocolate by the bar or in single servings to pair with their coffee.

Insight Coffee has enjoyed a boom in expansion over the last few years, adding to their original Southside shop locations near the Capitol on 10th Street, in the 16 Powerhouse building on 16th Street, in the Pavillions off Fair Oaks Blvd, and now in Carmichael.

They specialize in coffee education, grown naturally out of a passion for sourcing, roasting, and brewing. While the Carmichael location is not yet on their published schedule, all the locations host free coffee and tea tastings, brew demos, and a monthly seminar for sourcing, roasting, and brewing individually.

The Milagro Insight is open 7am-7pm,  7 days a week. All Insight’s locations close earlier (5-8pm) than the other big artisan shops in town, so if you’d like see what makes them so good, you’ll have to make note if it’s the evening hours.
