City of Trees Blossoms at Bonney Field [Photo Gallery]

The second annual City of Trees Festival may have found a home at Bonney Field.

A year after the musical success at Gibson Ranch, the multi-act show moved to the home of the United Soccer League’s Sacramento Republic FC, with an eye on putting together future shows at the site of the old Cal Expo Amphitheater. More than 13,000 fans turned out on a hot, but not-too-bad [by Sacramento summer standards] 94-degree day to dance in the sun and listen to 20 acts on three stages. In total, the festival treated Sacramentans to eight hours of alternative-rock music on Saturday.

Performers included headliners Weezer, Panic! At The Disco, Phantogram, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness as well as international, national and local musicians The Struts, 888, The Unlikely Candidates, The Rebel Light, Kungs (DJ set), Arden Park Roots, The Color Wild, Cemetery Sun, Young Aundee, Trophii, Zephyr, Druskee, Joy and Madness, Pacific Skyway, Joseph One, and DJ Oasis.

Dusk descended and the veteran Weezer and then Panic! at the Disco sent the crowd home happy–and free of the monster traffic jams that made last year’s show a such a bad memory.
