Leap Year Edition of Railroad Museum Story Time with Good Day’s Marianne McClary

GDS Marianne-McClaryAll aboard for some reading fun on Leap Year Day!

Beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 29, the California State Railroad Museum will present a special story time with Good Day News Anchor Marianne McClary. Marianne will read the illustrated children’s book It’s My Birthday Finally! A Leap Year Story by Michelle Whitaker Winfrey followed by Happy Birthday, Thomas! by Rev. W. Audrey.

Through this interactive and fun program, parents are encouraged to let trains and railroading introduce and encourage a love of reading with their imaginative young children ages two to five.

The All Aboard for Story Time! reading program — first introduced in 2014 by California State Parks and the California State Railroad Museum & Foundation – has expanded to a weekly offering every Monday morning at 11 a.m. year-round. Different railroad-related books are showcased each month during Story Time! after which children and parents are encouraged to enjoy exploring the Museum.

The All Aboard for Story Time! program is included with Museum admission: $10 adults; $5 youths ages 6-17; free for children ages 5 and under. For more information about the reading program or the Railroad Museum in general, please call 916-323-9280 or visit www.csrmf.org.
