Art Hotel 916 Displays One Amazing Artist Showcase

If you’ve recently driven by L and 7th street downtown, you may have noticed a line of  smiling folks on the sidewalk anxiously awaiting something. And their smiles are fully warranted, because the Art Hotel 916 does not disappoint.

With only a few days left to explore the abandoned hotel that has been transformed into an incredible art exhibit, 60+ of some of the best local and international artists have created unique displays of art, using various forms of mediums. Open now through Feb. 13, it will leave your jaw dropped as you enter each room of the hotel and apartment building, which is slated be demolished in Spring 2016.

Art enthusiast Reynaldo Reyes says “it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen or experienced.”

About the author

Frans Loriaux

Where to begin, I love photography and take it in my heart wherever I am. After a college endeavor of Molecular, Cell, & Developmental Biology at UCLA, I decided to get out of my introverted and nerdy comfort zone and started modeling for agencies in San Francisco and Sacramento for editorials, commercials, advertisements. I quickly began an infatuation with the technical side of the camera and photography and began shooting. I finally tapped into my creative and artistic side and found a passion and damn near obsession with photography. I love shooting everything and sharing the art and photos with clients and making them remember moments that will be forever in their hearts. I'm thankful for Sacramento Press for having me be a contributing writer to share these stories as well.
