The Associated Students, University of California, Davis (ASUCD) teamed up with Goldenvoice, San Francisco to bring one of the biggest shows in years to UC Davis. Flume, Kaytranada & AlunaGeorge will be playing to an excited audience at the university’s ARC Pavilion on May 19. The Australian electronic musician and producer Harley Streten, makes atmospheric dance music and has been taking over the music festival scene for the past year starting at California’s ever popular Coachella music festival in 2014, following with a euphoric New Year’s countdown at this past SnowGlobe, and will be headlining The Do Lab’s Lightning in a Bottle over Memorial Day Weekend later this year. Flume began producing his own music in his early teens and gained recognition after winning a Future Classic competition leading to a record deal with the label. He released his first EP in 2011 featuring the his hit single “Sleepless.” A year later he delivered his debut self-titled solo album, and a deluxe edition of the album in November of 2013.
Kaytranada has proven himself as an artist on the rise and one to watch with his production and live sets. Headlining tours in Europe, Australia, and North America, the young artist was first inspired by hip hop and R&B culture during childhood. He adapted his own versions of the genres to create a sound that’s his own.
AlunaGeorge consists of George Reid and Aluna Francis, the duo of which has George producing electronic music with Aluna providing her unique sweet vocals. Aluna’s vocals are also featured on Disclosure’s “White Noise” and Jack U’s latest single “To U.” The first song the musicans made together was ‘Make No Mistake’, which lead to the birth of AlunaGeorge.
