The Zombies are Coming! Sacramento Zombie Train Ride Scares…and Impresses

All aboard the Zombie Train

The Zombie Train has attacked thousands with its unique concept of an end of the world Apocalyptic style scenario via railway where ticket holders get to help save the world–or die with it.

Launched in 2013, the Zombie Train is an interactive zombie train ride where guests can either hop on board for the show or join the Zombie Train Militia with an upgraded ticket that lets them shoot the zombies hungrily lurking on the tracks. Zombies are cast by members of the Zombie Club, which according to the Zombie Train website, is an “international organization for Zombie Fans, Halloween Freaks, Horror Film and FX Enthusiasts.” This year’s cast includes a rotation of many local zombie enthusiasts who previously performed in past yearly events, making this the biggest most entertaining ride of them all!

The Zombie Train tickets are well worth the price because not only do riders get entertained for 2 hours, but they also interact and play along with actors and actresses. Since the result of last year’s 6 week season on the Sacramento River Train was staggering, this year’s Zombie Train returned to West Sacramento with a longer four month season from July to October. In addition to the West Sacramento location, the group also launched rides on the historic Sierra Railroad in Oakdale, which will be running from August through October.

The ride has been highly recommend from not only local news sources, but also in the Hawaii TribuneThe Columbus Distpatch and New Zealand News. I also recommend it, not just for train enthusiasts like myself, but also for fans of the zombie/horror genre who want to feel the fear of a zombie attack for themselves.
