[VIDEO] Bike Donations to Teach Homeless Kids Bike Safety

The Sacramento Police Department was honored to present the Mustard Seed School with 20 bicycles and a variety of school supplies made possible by donations received from the community.   Today’s donation will help the school educate students on bicycle safety.

In October of 2013, the Sacramento Police Department was awarded a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety (O.T.S) for a year-long program aimed to improve traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety around schools.  Funding from the O.T.S. provided helmets for the students which were delivered to the school during today’s presentation.

Members of Sacramento Police Activities League also attended the event.  SAC PAL provides countless hours of volunteer time mentoring youth in our community. [text directly reposted from SacPD statement]
