Crocker Art Mix – Neon Night [Photos and Videos]

Last Thursday night the Crocker Art Museum held its monthly Art Mix, a chance for attendees to enjoy art and entertainment, in a fun, social setting.

This month’s theme was Neon Night. Light painting with neon and neon inspired themes. Three art exhibitions, body painting, a psychedelic light show, and aerialists made the evening a fun time for all.

I had the opportunity to attend and capture the wonderful colors and light moods of the various aspects of the evening. I hope you enjoy the photos and videos. I certainly enjoyed the evening.

Exhibitions

This exhibition depicts the struggles of generation ‘Y’ as they move from family influences through independence to creating their own families. An inspired work showing aspects of this transformation in 3 different lighting conditions, in full light, neon light, and in shadow.

This exhibition showed works in neon inspired by water and flow.

And finally the Glass on the Grid project highlights works by 3 artists as well as students from Bella Vista High School. Works in this display use glass as fused tiles, sculptures, hand blown vessels, and mixed media explorations.

Light Show

Attendees were treated to a psychedelic inspired light show by by John Sondregger and Ted Ternes on the walls and ceiling of the Teel Family Pavilion. Here is a video showing some of the reflections.

The evening was a visual experience not only of the art, but of the people as well.
