Sac State Geology Club Offers Unique Holiday Gifts

With the holidays fast approaching, so does a list of hard to buy for friends and family.  The Sacramento State Geology Club is offering a unique solution that really rocks!  It may sound unusual, but rocks, fossils, and crystals can make the perfect mantel piece, garden ornament, or specialty gift, and there will be over 150 specimens up for grabs at the annual Rock Auction this Friday, November 22nd!

A few of the items that will be rolling onto the auction block include:

For the tenth year in a row, Sacramento State is hosting the fundraiser that benefits the next generation of geoscientists.  Auction items come from a variety of generous donors including local businesses, alumni and professors.

The Geology club encourages rock hounds of all ages to join in the festivities, which include the live auction, silent auction, food, drinks, and an entire children’s section.  “This is a great way to introduce kids to earth science.  We have geology related games, –activities and prizes for kids of all ages,” says Club President Chris Day.
