A teen was injured Thursday morning when a trailer explosion occurred in Elk Grove.

When Cosumnes River firefighters arrived on scene in the 8500 block of Alpine Blue Court, they found a trailer completely in pieces, damage to the two adjacent homes and an injured teen.

This incident was caused by a possible propane explosion near the hot water heater in the camper style trailer which was adjacent to the house, officials said.

The male teen was transported to UC Davis Medical Center, Consumes Fire said, with burns.

The incident is under investigation and the extent of the teens burns and condition is unknown.
