Sacramento Pride Media Marches On

Pride Media, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) media start-up, has expanded and evolved in the past 6 months into a full-fledged multi-channel media company in Sacramento.

Pride Media was created almost a year ago to facilitate and promote the numerous events, activities and businesses affiliated with the vibrant LGBTQ community of the Greater Sacramento region. As with most new ventures, there is much re-tooling after the first several months of experimentation. This has been true for Pride Media. Recently, the print publication, radio show and website each received a facelift.

After a short period of reconstruction, the website (PrideMedia.net) is once again live, dynamic, and extremely informative with local, regional and national news, community events, and marketing/advertising. It also includes information about Pride Media’s expansion into event planning, video production and business partnerships.

The publication, PrideNews, has received an overhaul and will reappear bi-monthly in the Sacramento News and Review beginning Thursday, Nov. 21. It is slated to expand its reach into the Reno and Chico markets beginning in Jan. 2014.

The nation’s first live LGBTQ radio show, PrideLive, has been on hiatus, but returns Sat, Nov. 16 from 10 p.m. to midnight on local Talk 650 KSTE. The show streams live on KSTE.com, worldwide on iHeartRadio and fans can interact in real time via our chatroom at pridemedia.net/chat. Each show can also be heard via rebroadcast on a PrideLive website archive.

Co-founder and CEO, Kevin Manz, stated that “Through this short time of reinvention, we were moving full steam ahead and expanding our presence, reach and services in order to better serve the community.”

In the upcoming weeks and months, Pride Media will make some exciting announcements about increasing coverage, services and geographical expansion. Manz is currently seeking additional members for his sales team. In the meantime, Pride Media staff will be working very hard to improve and expand their brand and services to support the wider community.
