Midtown Halloween Pooch Parade [Photos]

 

The Mad Hatter, aka Spencer, took first place in the pooch Halloween costume competition.

The Midtown Business Association held its fourth annual Pooch Parade and Trick or Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 26. It was held at Marshall Park in the Sutter District and it was a happenin’ place.

Kids, adults and dogs of all makes and models and sizes showed up dressed as someone else.

The pooch parade covered a couple of blocks in the Sutter District on J and K Streets.Judging was done after the parade, Here are the results:

Second place: Leo, the referee
Third place: The wedding dog.
Funniest costume: Taco, aka Jordan
Spookiest: Skunk and Headless rider
Best duo: Wonder Woman

For the everyone, there was pumpkin decorating, face painting, carnival games, caramel apples and lots of prizes and candy.

After the best dressed dog winners were announced, a canine named Coco was introduced. She lost her right front leg to cancer about a month ago.The diagnosis was made in July and the cancer grew really fast.

Juscine Gomez, her owner, says she will be starting chemo soon. She said Coco went swimming the day after her surgery.

Kids and parents went trick or treating on businesses in the area at 5pm.
