Featuring dozens of local actors who portray both the famous (E.B. Crocker, Aimee Crocker, Barbi Benton, Joan Didion) and the infamous (Dorothea Puente), "River City Anthology" plays Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 20 through Oct. 20 at the Wilkerson Theatre in the California Stage Complex at 25th and R streets in Sacramento.
"I am pleased to partner with the Sacramento Poetry Center to bring this energetic collaboration to the community,” said Actor’s Workshop of Sacramento co-founder Ed Claudio. “Sacramento’s vibrant arts community has really come together to bring what will be an entertaining look into local legends such as the Crockers, Dorothea Puente and the Maloofs; local scenery and waterways; daily rituals; celebratory moments; as well as a few scandals and scoundrels.”

Bob Stanley, president of the Sacramento Poetry Center and one of the many contributing writers to "River City Anthology," expressed similar admiration for Claudio’s contribution to the project.
“’River City Anthology’ is a remarkable collaboration of poets, musicians, and actors, all tied together by the vision of Ed Claudio,” said Stanley. “We’re fortunate to have Ed putting on plays here in Sacramento, and we’re very lucky that he dreamed up the concept of ‘River City Anthology.’ In some ways this play brings the spirit of ‘Spoon River Anthology’ home to our river town, and in other ways creates a poetic drama entirely new, and entirely Sacramento.”
