The old Mather Air Force Base is poised and ready for a nostalgic journey into the history of aviation. The ground is rumbling once again in Rancho Cordova. The jets are back. The cargo planes are taking off and landing on a regular basis.

The memories of the “old days” at "Mather" are flowing. It’s almost showtime, and performers are polishing their routines. The buffs are gathered, sharing stories of harrowing journeys across the world and memories of times past.

The government shutdown has closed or furloughed many offices and branches of the federal government.

Fortunately the CCA was not affected by the shutdown. In fact, they were lucky – the CCA was able to secure another jet performance group,

the Patriots Jet team came over after the show that they were supposed to perform in was cancelled.

 

Oct. 5-6 is showtime – bring your earplugs. Gates open at 9 a.m. The show starts at 11:30 a.m., and ends at 4:30 p.m. each day.
