Two grass fires break out near Northgate and Del Paso Blvd

Areas flamed up until the firecrews arrived.

Two grass fires broke out near Northgate and Del Paso Blvd this afternoon. The firecrews had gained control of the fire near the railroad tracks when another fire ignited about two blocks away. It was quickly extinguished.

The smoke from the first fire could be seen driving on Capital City Freeway 160 around 4pm.

Water extinguished the flames quickly.

The fire was quickly hosed down at the second fire.
The fires are under investigation.
