Silence, Remembrance and Reflection

A father and daughter stand closely to the 9/11 memorial in West Sacramento today.
Today is the 12th anniversary of 9/11. A memorial and flag tribute will remain in place through this evening.

Founder John Vinson will be there.

His first year in 2007 he had 25 flags honoring the victims of that day.

Today 500 big flags fly and there are 2,977 small flags honoring all of those who lost their lives.

The memorial is set up in a field at Jefferson Blvd and South River Road in West Sacramento.

A bugler from Buglers Across America joined with other buglers to blow taps simultaneously at the precise times the four planes hit.

The field shall be lighted throughout the evening and is open to everyone at no cost.
