Aftershock Festival to take over Discovery Park

Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th Discovery Park will host Aftershock Festival 2013, a rockin’ event featuring bands ranging from Korn to Five Finger Death Punch.

The two-day festival is slated to begin early with the first band set to go on just after 11:00 am on Saturday.

There are to be two main stages, the Monster Energy North and South that the main acts will alternate between. The third, the Ernie Ball stage, will host a smattering of lesser-known, but certainly not lesser-talented groups.

The festival is sure to be entertaining as bands are scheduled back to back with sets ranging from 30 minutes to an hour and a half.

Some noteworthy acts slated to play are: Vacaville-natives Papa Roach, Megadeth, radio-friendly Buckcherry, nu-metal legend Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, HIM, and the raunchy hair-metal group Steel Panther.

For a full lineup list with times each particular band will be playing, check out the Aftershock Festival website.

Crazy Dave’s Music Experience will have a booth set up in the center of the chaos where Aftershock’s website boasts that concert-goers can try out the rockstar experience for themselves. Visitors will be able to play various instruments in an interactive setting and the booth will also host meet and greets with various musicians from the bands that are playing.

There will be plenty of vendors selling assorted foods and beverages, as well as special VIP areas for those who purchased an upgraded ticket package.

To top it all off, Ace of Spades will have a pre-party on Friday, September 13th featuring Steel Panther. Anyone who has purchased a ticket to Aftershock will be able to get in (first come, first served of course).

The bottom line is that Aftershock has over 30 metal and rock bands set to play over a span of two days (three if you count the Ace of Spades pre-party), so it’s sure to be a rockin’ good time for heavy music fans of all ages.
