This past Sunday, August 11, I went to the Sacramento Antique Faire that takes every second Sunday under the freeway. This monthly event is something I really enjoy going to because it’s a great place to see many people from the community put their inspiration and creativity to work. Everyone is always on a mission for that hidden treasure at the faire with treasure hunters, vintage seekers and DIY fanatics galore. It is always fun going earlier in the day to see how each vendor has designed and set up their booth to display their items. Some layouts look like they belong in an actual store with each vendor paying attention to detail and lining up their bottle screws, or putting their jewelry into nice cases. The faire is always booming with friendly and creative people.

The faire starts at 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and has over 300 vendors at each event. Items range from vintage clothing, to mermaid bottle openers, and a lot of Coca-Cola paraphernalia. There are a ton of unique clothing items. Some vendors hold booths that feel like a thrift store, except everything is pre picked out for the quirky details that will leave any fashionista wanting more. Everytime I go I always see leather jackets, throwback 49er gear and vintage boots for men and women (that will be great to sport for fall)! The antique faire also has a lot of household items from old bar stools to lighting and glass or porcelain figurines that can be used for displays or decor.

Admission is $3 per person, and kids under 16 years old are admitted for free. There is one parking lot on 22nd Street between W & X and street parking is always free on Sundays. Get ready to get your hands dirty for the next one coming up Sunday, September 8, to dive into some great vintage finds for home decor, collecting or for DIY projects. There is plenty of parking, restrooms and ATM available for customers, hope to see everyone at next month’s antique faire!
My favorite part about the Antique Faire is looking at vintage clothes, shoes and jewelry. Lately I’ve been obsessed with rings and found a great booth selling a ton of unique pieces. I picked these out for San Francisco’s Outsidelands music festival and will definitely be sporting them at Sacramento’s Launch festival.
