SIGLFF Preview Party Introduces October Program

The Sacramento International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (SIGLFF), is celebrating their 22st Anniversary, October 10-12, 2013 at the Crest Theater.

This has been a very eventful year for the LGBTQ community with the Supreme Court decisions of the Defense of Marriage Act and Prop 8, among many other history making strides in equality. This year the Sacramento International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Programing Committee has chosen an exciting list of films that will be sure to evoke a wide variety of emotions as well as thoughtful consideration of the lives of LGBTQ people throughout the world.

Before the red carpet is unfurled in October, festival organizers are hosting a “Preview Party” on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the ever-popular Dive Bar, voted Sacramento’s “Best Trendy Bar”, 1016 K Street, Sacramento, 95814 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

This event will be a premiere unveiling of the 2013 SIGLFF Program. Attendees will have the first opportunity to receive a printed program, view full-length trailers and purchase tickets before they go on sale to the public.

New this year at the festival will be a special afternoon matinée, Saturday, October 12, 2013. Early entry will be extended to VIP Festival Pass holders as well as free admittance to the public.

Special guest of this year’s SIGLFF Preview Party will be LA Documentary Filmmaker, Kate Logan who will be introducing her latest film, “Kidnapped for Christ”. The film is anticipated to be featured in October at the film festival. This is a compelling documentary on the highly controversial methods used on troubled teens at an Evangelical Christian reform school.

The Preview Party will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a no host bar and wine tasting. There is a requested donation of $10 or a $40.00 VIP Festival Pass which you can purchase at the door.
