The man of many influences, Compton California native J. Boog is bringing his island and Jamaican reggae sound to Sacramento’s premier night club, Ace of Spades, this Thursday, Aug. 1.
J’s been performing since age 9
According to his Facebook page,
“Things became real in 2005, when he was taken to meet one of his idols, the man with the golden voice George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso. The two began working together immediately and J ended up moving to Hawaii in 2006 to continue developing his craft. After releasing his debut album ‘Hear Me Roar’ in 2007, he joined the musical family Wash House Music Inc, a record label based in Hawaii and San Francisco. His newest album, ‘Backyard Boogie’ was released in September of 2011 and features Tarrus Riley, Jacob Hemphill (of SOJA), Peetah Morgan (of Morgan Heritage), Fiji and others.”
In March 2013, he ripped the stage at Ace of Spades opening for Rebelution. Now he’s going to be there again. It’s sure to be a memorable musical stroll through the life of J. Boog.
Tickets are going fast. There are still a few left, and you can get them at Armadillo Music in Davis, The Beat, local Dimple Records locations or aceofspadessac.com.
