Dime: New Midtown restaurant slated to open in July

The owners of Ink Eats & Drinks in Midtown plan to open a new restaurant on 18th & L Streets around mid-July.

Dime, which will be in the L Wine Lounge and Urban Kitchen’s old spot, will serve $10 entrees of American bistro-style comfort food, according to Christina Arntson, Ink’s assistant general manager and consultant for Dime.

“We’re looking to be an all-around bar in the neighborhood,” she said. “A good place with good-priced food and drinks. Something different than what the neighborhood has.”

Open seven days a week, the restaurant will serve lunch and dinner starting from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. with the bar staying open to 2 a.m. Downstairs will be the main dining area while upstairs can be rented for private events. The condos in the building will receive exclusive room service.

The restaurant plans to work with farmers and growers on using locally sourced fruits, vegetables and other foods. A partnership is in place with the Greenbar Collective to feature organic and handcrafted liquors.

Other ideas like offering brunch for the weekend crowd may be in the works after the opening. “We want to get our feet wet, get settled in first,” Arntson said.

This restaurant will be known as Capitol Dime since the owners hope to expand the Dime franchise in the future.

The Sacramento Press plans to get more details and will post them when they are available.
