Efforts to rebuild the fire-damaged McKinley Park playground hit a milestone when its destruction and demolition began bright and early Thursday morning. Most of the playground, which fell victim to arson last year, was auctioned off Wednesday evening. American Technologies Inc. was on site Thursday morning to disassemble the structure so that auctioned items could be removed. The demoliton of the standing supports will be Thursday, Aprill 11 – weather permiting.
The new playground was put together by Play By Design in collaboration with local youth and residents.
