History of Weinstock’s department store discussed

Weinstock’s occupied a building on K
Street, which featured
an imposing arched entry.

Author and historian Annette Kassis will discuss her book, Weinstock’s: Sacramento’s Finest Department Store at a free Sacramento Public Library adult program at 11 a.m., Saturday February 2, at the Robbie Waters Pocket-Greenhaven branch, 7335 Gloria Drive, Sacramento.

In addition to discussing the 121-year history of the iconic Sacramento department store, Kassis’s talk will focus on Weinstock-Lubin’s interior and window displays, and how American department store theatrical display mirrored both the culture and time period.
The talk will be followed by a book sale and author signing.
