The Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary held its 12th Annual Kibble & Bids fundraising event on Saturday at the California Automobile Museum. Over 500 people attended the fundraiser, dubbed "Vintage Gold," which featured food, beer and wine-tasting, silent and live auctions, a raffle, live music and plenty of Golden Retriever greeters.

Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue and Sanctuary is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization which "rescues and heals displaced, abandoned, and homeless Golden Retrievers and Golden/Labrador mixes throughout Northern California, no matter their age or health." Jody and Mike Jones founded Homeward Bound in January 2000 and took in 255 dogs their first year. The number of rescued and surrendered dogs has increased over the years as more people have lost their homes or cannot afford medical care for their dogs.
