Bret Michaels proved to be a first-class performer as he wowed a packed audience last night at Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s Outdoor Amphitheatre in Lincoln.
As part of his “Get Your Rock on 2012” tour, Michaels performed with special guests Night Ranger and Slaughter.
Slaughter, an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, took the stage shortly after 7 p.m. and set the tone for a night of stellar rock n’ roll performances. Lead vocalist Mark Slaughter and bassist Dana Strum worked together well as they performed a medley of songs.
Night Ranger, an American rock band from San Francisco, was up next. A rugged group of five musicians, Night Ranger did not disappoint. The lead singer worked the crowd from one end of the stage to the other, engaging with the sold out audience of nearly 4,500.
Anticipation was in the air as Night Ranger exited the stage and audience members patiently awaited the main event of the evening.
The audience roared as Michaels took center stage with his trademark bandana.
Michaels was in an infectious mood – so upbeat and happy. His audience was captivated – nearly everyone standing, dancing and singing along to all of his songs.
Michaels performed well-known hits “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Look What the Cat Dragged In” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” among others.
Michaels first gained fame as the lead vocalist of metal band Poison, which has since sold over 30 million records worldwide. He also has several solo albums including Songs of Life, Rock My World and A Letter from Death Row.
Michaels has also appeared in several movies and TV shows and is a producer and reality television show star.
Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s Summer Concert Series lasts through September.
