Sacramento Public Relations Association Honors Top PR Professionals at Annual CAPPIE Awards Gala

The Sacramento Public Relations Association (SPRA), a non-profit organization providing public relations professionals with career enhancement opportunities, celebrated its 25th anniversary in style by honoring top local PR professionals at its annual CAPPIE Awards Gala last night at The Citizen Hotel.
The CAPPIES honors local PR professionals and agencies for work performed the previous year. This year, SPRA went digital with the submission process thereby providing ease of use for entrants and better consistency of entries for judging. Local KFBK radio celebrity, Kitty O’Neal, was the emcee of the event. In addition to the overall awards (http://spra.org/events/cappies/), three noteworthy and prestigious honors were awarded to:

• PR Person of the Year – Adam Gottlieb, for his work with the California Energy Commission
• Lifetime Achievement – Christi Black, Edelman
• Volunteer of the Year – Kelli Camacho, Edelman

Entries represented all aspects of Sacramento’s public relations scene, from both “in-house” and PR agencies. Also making a strong showing were non-profit organizations, city public information offices, retail outlets and trade associations. Top awards went to the following local organizations: Halldin Public Relations, ProProse, Me Communications, 3fold Communications, Edelman and IN Communications (for a complete list visit http://spra.org/events/cappies/).
