Question: Before we really get into the guts of this interview. Tell me something personal about yourself. You have a fascinating history. Where were you born? Where were you living before you moved to Sacramento? What are your hobbies and recreational activities? Tell me about your family life.

Answer: I was born in Australia, 6th generation, from free settlers who built churches and community centers around the world for hundreds of years. Before moving to Sacramento my husband and I were living in Haight Ashbury for 11 years and helping manage and run festivals and concerts. My hobbies tend to end up being what I do for a living, such as managing festivals, designing costumes, art directing, and writing.

Question: Living in Sacramento, where are some places that you like to visit?

Answer: I love the American River, I think it’s fabulous. I love driving or riding my bike around Sacramento and looking at the architecture. I love Old Sacramento, I can feel the stories from this place.

Question: Deborah, how did you become fascinated with the Grail research?

Answer: A year ago I revisited the Bible and bible classes as an adult, after years of living in different cultures and educating myself in different faiths, the Bible still didn’t make sense. After seeing the Da Vinci Code and other documentaries on Mary Magdalene, something like a switch clicked in my head and I realized they’d all left out some very important symbology, which has always been used for royal families and important people. After about 2 hours of using this symbology I found the so-called descendants of the Grail alive and well on Facebook, about 20,000 of them. And like Alice in the looking glass I got “curioser” and “curioser”, so decided to fully go down the rabbit hole and see where I would end up.

Question: I know something about the Holy Grail concept, or grail concept, however you want to call it. Basically what I know is that Jesus had a child or children…is that correct? Can you elaborate on this?

Answer: As far as Jesus and Mary Magdalene and Jesus’ other wives having children I’ve found a bunch of sources in different folklore, traditions, histories, and even history professors reading out Latin genealogies on camera. Some claim Jesus had one child a son or daughter, others claim 3 children, a daughter and two sons, and others that they had twin boys. The one thing everyone does agree on is that there was a family of Jesus relatives, who had descendants and they were the leaders of the early Christian Church before Constantine.

Question: I hear you are working on a book. Can you tell us about it?

Answer: Yes, I’m about 60,000 words into it. It’s a history of the Holy Grail, about 3,000 years of it up to present day and how it became this mythical phenomena that’s woven itself into human consciousness. But also it’s political history and how its affected things like how we see and treat each other, human rights, women’s rights, and why we tend to fear things we don’t understand and turn them into demons.

Question: Deborah, a lot of people saw the movie, the da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks, do you think that secret societies have kept the holy grail bloodline a secret, such as the Knights Templar? Perhaps the secrets were passed on from the Knights Templar to the Freemasons. What do you think of this idea?

Answer: When Constantine took over the Roman Church he made it policy that anybody claiming to be a descendant of Jesus’ family was to be executed and all records of them destroyed. So yes that would make sense why they were kept secret and the Templars did start out with vows of poverty which fits into the Jesus’ Church tradition, and after the Templars had a bounty put on their heads they would have sensibly changed their public image and name, though I doubt that all Freemasons would know the full story.

Question: Do you believe that the holy grail bloodline goes through the bloodline of British royals or maybe to our very own Presidents?

Answer: I believe the blood of King David runs through the British Royal family, but as for Mary Magdalene and Jesus and their descendants, that’s still up for debate until we have more evidence of genealogies.

Question: I know there are going to be a lot of people interested in purchasing your book when it is published. How can people get in touch with you? Do you have an email address where people can write you? Do you have a website address?

Answer: My web site is www.sangraaltruth.com

Question: This is a fascinating interview, I need to ask you a few more questions, before we end this interview. When you said you did costume designs, can you explain what type of costumes you were designing? Who do you design these costumes for?

Answer: Edwardian steampunk, I love period costumes and the details, also Burning Man festivals, most of the people who buy my clothes and costumes are from San Francisco, where there is some kind of costume party or festival every week.

Question: You are an international traveler, can you tell me where you have been?

Answer: England, Morocco, India, Nepal, Bali, Finland, Thailand, Germany, France, Ibiza, off the top of my head

Question: What books, TV shows and movies do you like?

Answer: Biography’s, histories, Chinese Ghost stories, period dramas, but also modern quirky art movies and Sci Fi. Love Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Lex and vintage Sci Fi.

Question: Another thing you mentioned to me before the interview, that you think that you might be an empath. Is that correct?

Answer: Yes. Ever since I was a kid, I was able to feel things that were going to happen in the near future. Sometimes I can pick up things about people, it just comes in my head.

Question: You mentioned to me before the interview, that you had a UFO experience, pray tell!

Answer: I was standing in my garden when out of the corner of my eye I saw a shape in the sky that didn’t make any sound, which got my attention as we live under the flight path of the local executive airport. It was boomerang shaped and sort of changed color, like camouflage and it gave me a weird feeling. The fact that it didn’t make any sound was what caught my attention so I checked the computer for wind speeds to see if it could be a glider, but there was no wind and it was a very cold day so updrafts to keep a glider aloft, let alone continuing to travel upwards. Honestly before that I didn’t really believe in UFO’s.

Question: Another thing you said before the interview is that you were once or still are into comic books. Since, I used to be in the comic book business, can you explain?

Answer: My dad brought home a lot of comics when I was a kid, then when I first moved out of home I was sharing a house with a red headed little person, Christine who got me into reading Judge Dread and watching black and white movies, this was in 1983 or 1984. After that in Art College in London I fell in love with the modern comic book artists and got a lot of inspiration from them for my paintings.

Question: Now to a fun question, if you had 6 dinner guests, 3 historical and 3 fictional, who would they be?

Answer: Lady Jane Grey, Bodacia, Mary Magdalene, Xena, Tank Girl, Alice in Wonderland.

Question: Again, a big thank you for this interview. Do you have any words of wisdom for your readers?

Answer: Skepticism is healthy if combined with objectivity.
