17 Artists Donate For Silent Auction and Raffle Event

Lutheran Social Services of Northern CA (LSS) has been serving homeless youth and families in the Sacramento and Stockton areas for over 40 years. Now, as failing budgets and program cut backs are impacting many shelters and non-profits, LSS hopes to take the situation and turn lemons into lemonade. They are launching an ambitious campaign to raise funds to support their programs and services.

On, Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and in partnership with Design With Fire and Fire River Art Glass Studios, over 15 artists have contributed art glass, hand blown glass, jewelry, wood, water colors and many more pieces for a silent auction and raffle that will serve LSS. Hosted by well-known artists Linnea Wong and Patrick Mullen, the event will include special demonstrations of glass blowing and bead making with contributing artists that includes Theoren Hanks, a 12-year old glass artist who has received many awards.

“For many years, we’ve helped put homeless families and homeless youth into stable housing and provide a safety net of services so that these families and individuals obtain self-sufficiency. We’re asking the general public to support us during these difficult budget times. We are so grateful to all of the artists in Northern CA who have contributed their time and talent to this event”, said Sue Laliberte, Deputy Director.
