Kudos to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department for providing an educational opportunity for youth 13-17yrs of age.
The program will focus on youth violence prevention- to save a life and save freedom. The program will include discussions on youth death and youth arrests.
Everyone is welcome. Please bring youth who you feel could benefit from the outreach.
On Friday youth will write down what they want to discuss. A mother who lost her teenage son will discuss choices. Her son died after making a bad choice and police attempted to apprehend him. The mother has a powerful tragic story to share with the youth.
Their will also be several youth performances including the Aztec Dance Group, Justice… Guest speaker, Rhonda Erwin, will discuss Sacramento youth deaths / arrests. The youth will put their heart and soul into their performances.
Saturday will offer youth entertainment as well including Youth Praise Team, Yeshua Movement, Gospel Rappers…
Saturday’s program will also include a powerful L.I.F.E – four part series
L – Law looking from above – Sister Debra Herndon (Warden aspect)
I – In the Cage of rage – Minister William Gillard (Inmate aspect)
F – Forever a number – Brother Eric Wright (Parole Officer Aspect)
E – End result of your actions – Rhonda Erwin (Family member of an inmate aspect)
Give a man a fish; he can eat for a day. Teach him how to fish; he will eat for a lifetime.
St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department will:
Provide an educational opportunity for youth ages 13-17 years, which is age appropriate, fun, exciting, and spiritually filled. The program will focus on youth violence prevention and our motto is, “If we can save at least one child from the system, we were successful”.
The program includes, Praise Teams, Praise Dancers, Youth Counselors, Law Enforcement Officers, games and much more.
