The Student Fashion Association (SFA) at Sacramento State will host its annual Charity Fashion Show on Nov. 1 at 7:00 pm in the University Union Ballroom. The proceeds will benefit both the apparel marketing and design department as well as WEAVE, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence and sexual assault among men, women and children in the community.

Fourteen student designers get the exciting opportunity to see models showcase their designs on the runway. The show offers students hands-on experience in all aspects of the fashion industry including styling, designing, modeling and public relations.

“I hope the experience will challenge me and push me to continue to follow my goals. Being that it will be my first time showcasing my designs, it is a nerve wrecking process to present who I am to an audience,” said Sacramento State Apparel and Marketing Design student, Stacy Saelee.

Local boutiques Sugar Shack, Cuffs, and the WEAVE thrift store landed spots to display their clothing as well. These midtown boutiques give student stylists a chance to craft a design of their own for the runway. SFA is also proud to announce that Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School students will be providing hair and makeup services to the designers.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 each and $5 for children under 5 years old. Doors open at 6:00 pm, early arrival is recommended.

About SFA: SFA is a community of students at Sacramento State who enrich their education through a network of events, shared interests, and leadership. They work together to incorporate the different elements of the fashion industry to create a learning environment for themselves and the community.
