It's not that old, it was built in 1992 on the cheap. The Wells Fargo Center across the street was built at about the same time for around $100 million while this building was constructed for around $45 million. You get what you pay for.

Seriously? The Maloof's have been tiring to build a new arena for 10 years now. If you knew anything about what is about to happen in the NBA, this NBA season will end in a lock-out with the league wanting to slash salary costs by one-third ($700-800 million) in the next agreement which will be June 30th. If this can't be done the NBA is considering the elimination of teams to also solve the league's financial woes. If the Maloofs are told they are in that category because the Sacramento market is the weakest or one of the weakest in the league, then expect them to preserve their investment by moving to Anaheim.

All this well known info. My bet is that there won't be a season at all next year because players won't want to cut their salaries.

La Raza bases it’s organizational existence on sequestering one “race” (or ethnicity but La Raza means “The Race” however inexact that actually is) against others, in seeking privilege that is based upon ethnicity/race to exclude or supercede all others.

This is the least inspiring proposal for K Street yet, and it will do vary little to improve this part of downtown. If the city invests in this proposal, it will prove once again that David Taylor and the city have a "special relationship" that can only be had by city council kick backs. How many projects doe's Taylor get to do that include city subsidies? This guy is making a killing. I bet William Burg is also getting something out of this.

Can you tell me why a 4 or 5 of those business you listed above were business friendly with the City? There needs to be a pattern to prove what you’re saying, just listing business names doe's nothing to support your argument. Remember, you were the one who felt the need to say I was wrong so in response I only asked you for proof to back your claim. That's not asking for much from someone as you who claims to be out to learn and understand. BTW, your article you linked to refers to State government in Sacramento not local government in the city, there is a BIG difference.

Sorry, but I do understand and have tried to help on many different levels, but the truth is many of those people don't necessarily want help for various reasons. They like the handout but not the understanding that is expected from them to continue to receive the help. You sound young, maybe after another 10 or 15 years of seeing the same situation over and over again where some homeless don't want to help themselves, your bleeding heart won't bleed so much.

I have struggled myself ending up on food stamps and other aid, but in the end it was me that continued to push forward demonstrating that I did not want to be in that tough spot for vary long.

In my experience, many of the homeless want help but don't do what else’s is needed of them to make their lives better. They love handouts but don't want to follow certain guidelines and rules put in place by the helping organization (staying clean) that will make the individual strong and self supporting to hold down a job. Just because a homeless person says they don't abuse drugs doe's not mean it's true. I have witnessed on many occasions where money given to homeless with the assurance it was to be used for food ended up being used on a 40oz and a lottery ticket.

Casey, would you want this set-up next to your home? If this property is going to become a place for people to flop, it should be zoned that way with permission from the neighbors.

The City of Sacramento was going to pay these officers weather they broke up this camp or sweep K Street for bums and gangs, I'm glad they chose to enforce the anti-camping ordinance.

Next on the list, sweep K Street for gang bangers, bums, and others that cause the public to avoid that stretch of street whenever possible.

BTW, who are these people toni? I love it, you say the unions get it but the now the County and State don't! Sorry, but the unions also saw this coming several years ago but instead choose to ask for more pay and benefits.

Times are tough everywhere, just because your part of a union doe's not mean you won't feel the pain of layoffs too.
