If the new proprietors have taken the necessary steps to ensure all State and other regulatory requirements are fulfilled, then give them the opportunity to open their doors and let the dining public be the judge. Regarding the "fusion" label, it conjures an aura of trendiness that for some could have the unintended effect of inducing yawns or varying degrees of queasiness. To me "fusion" applies more to a music style prevalent in the 70's that combined elements of jazz, rock and world beat than to culinary creations. For the record, when fusion music lost its trendiness it faded out, something that "fusion" eateries may want to consider. As for the later business hours, give the new establishment a chance to prove itself neighborhood-friendly on its own merits, not those of a failed previous occupant. It may turn out to be the finest midnight snack in town. Kudos to Ms. Hurt for another piece of outstanding urban journalism!
Conversation about: Preliminary work starts on green line
Even if it takes 10 years, the light rail line to the airport will be an invaluable asset to the community. Once in place, riders will wonder how they ever lived without it, especially if the urban growth projections prior to the depression become a real possibility again. Having relocated from Chicago, I can testify that it's a liberating feeling to be riding on the O'Hare line passing miles of barely moving vehicles in the parking lot formerly known as the Kennedy Expressway! Thanks Ms. Hurt for another enlightening article!
