Go, Lee! Those cars on Greenback and Sunrise were scaring me! Whatever happened to civil rights?
Go, Lee! Those cars on Greenback and Sunrise were scaring me! Whatever happened to civil rights?
So where are people going to watch the results and celebrate??
I moved to the area a little over a year ago and was pleasantly surprised at the rich art scene here. I have never seen another city with anything quite like Sacramento's SS; it's nice that many of the galleries are so close together, and it's nice that there are so many galleries in general that are showing local artists! I like the music, and the crowds---to a point. It is frustrating when the galleries are too full to be able to see the art and talk to other people in there. It seems as if the solution might be to spread the day out a little; that is, make it an all-day gallery event so that you can beat the crowds by going earlier and dining later, coming for lunch and art (certainly on a shuttle!) walking around and listening to the music and shopping.
Conversation about: Hey Friends, that's not a "flash mob" that's my grandma!
It seems that Sacramento organizers just didn't get that the idea that a FlashMob is supposed to be a surprise—a random, unannounced, SECRET surprise. When all the participants are encouraged to spread the word (each choral member has family and friends who want to support them) and other choirs are invited to join the fun and then it goes viral on FB, all the randomness and surprise is gone. I was there, too, though, and must say everyone maintained good spirits in general, and that a couple of random nice ladies helped direct traffic out of our parking lot and we were surprisingly serenaded by a small high-spirited group hanging out at the top of the parking structure as we finally managed to make our way out of there.
