Conversation about: Sacramento to “Chalk it Up!” this weekend

Actually Liv is not acting as the artist coordinator this year (though I know it's still on the website). Starr Ambrosia is the artist coordinator. However, there's no need to pre-register for a $10 personal square. We will have plenty available at the festival with the box of chalk to go with it! Great article Angela, thanks so much for helping put a spotlight on Chalk it Up!'s 20th Anniversary! Jon, you can obtain a $10 square at the registration tent (near the fountain) anytime during the festival, which will include a small (12 piece) box of multi-colored chalk.

Conversation about: Old Soul Co. Holds Open House In Oak Park

As an Oak Park resident and homeowner (and Old Soul fan), I'm very excited that Old Soul will be coming into the center of Oak Park. I never felt any allegiance to Starbucks and thus patronized nearby independently owned coffee shops in adjoining Curtis Park (Pangaea Cafe and Coffee Garden) and Midtown. Now that we have a conveniently located amazing place owned by Sacramentans, I will certainly be planning more coffee meetings there as I imagine others will as well. I've also been happy to see the recent opening of Mighty Kong Muffins on Stockton Blvd and 12th Ave. Though their hours are fairly limited they do offer great fresh and healthy fare. I know that I will certainly be supporting these local new cafes, which along with restaurants is a category that Oak Park is sorely lacking.
