The Globetrotters are great basketball entertainment for the entire family, very much like the Sacramento Heatwave, in that they both play with red, white and blue basketball. Both play this Sunday, and represent a rare opportunity to see two different styles of basketball exhibition; red, white and blue style. I recall as a young boy, the experience to see the Globetrotters and remember it as if it werre yesterday. They continue to wow us; both kids and adults in the usual Globetrotter fashion and exhibition of class. I'd say you should make it a day for the red, white and blue. It's American!

No, I don't think he should have been fired. He, first of all doesn't play; he coaches. Too many times coaches are made the scapegoat for the lackluster play of the athletes he has to work with. That alone, can be very frustrating to watch from the sidelines. If you don't have the quality of players with a basketball IQ to consistently make good decisions on the court and the athletic prowess to complete those decisions, you have the makings of an underperforming team; which the Kings have had for several years. It's not Westphal's fault, nor Theus' fault or other predecessors since the Kings began the liquidation of it's high-level players and their high-level salaries that was the basis for their playoff caliber teams and their many sellout crowds. It's all relative. The current budget-safe group with the thought process that they're capable of competing with the NBA elite night after night, is the real catalyst for the level of play that exists and probably will continue. The "fools gold" win over the "retooling" Lakers, wasn't enough to even inspire overachievement for at least a few games. Wheras, I like the Kings and their organization, and have great respect for what they mean to the Sacramento region and the love their fans have garnered for them, even a younger coach that can "relate" to those younger players will probably continue to subscribe to the developmental culture that has rendered the NBA it's current "watered-down" product that lacks the execution, productivity and intestinal fortitude of perhaps it's best era nearly 20 to 30 years ago.
