The Kings did a great job the past 8 days upgrading the frontcourt. The team went from having Spencer Hawes as its only true center to trading him for a proven defender in Dalembert and drafting Cousins and Whiteside. Add Landry, JT and Brockman, the frontcourt could be very good next season.

Tretheway said he wrote the names down so he could remember who allegedly pressured him, but why did he say all six pressured him and then he says only Steve Ayers pressured him? If he pulls those names shouldn't he have accused Ayers only, the first time?

As councilman you never want to be in that kind of situation, publicly accusing six local businesspeople of pressuring you for support of the mayor and then withdrawing five of those names. You say who pressured you the first time so you don't have to pull out names later on.

And if the mayor is responsible on his part, he shouldn't have done what he did. Nothing has been proven on either side yet. It's a serious situation and should be resolved soon. In the end, the one who's guilty should have know that they're in public office and what started as something bad in the end just makes you look worse.

Lance probably paid for the police force. Who knew he was so sensitive over one stolen bike last year? I wouldn't know since I was there more as a spectator and a helping hand for KCRA rather than a journalist, but that's a very good question to ask SacPD and CHP.

I understand why they have so much of the force out there. So many people to keep under control in and around the sport's biggest event on this continent not only downtown, but around the whole route from here to Nevada City. So many of those cyclists could get hurt if even one spectator tries to do something crazy and causes the peloton (pack of cyclists) to crash. Only two were injured on the final laps going around the Capitol.

According to the ATOC, the whole tour brought in 2 million spectators last year and $100 million to the cities that hosted it. I imagine Sacto. got a good chunk of change out of this as well.

Look, I'm not going to waste too much time.

First off, Michael Morris, a good friend of mine from school, didn't respond to you. Being a member of the media, you get to go to games for free, meaning I spent $0 for anything there. Sac City, what you expected Sac State, UC Davis?

I said that SP isn't a pawn for KJ and you did. "I commend SP for its mission, but they need to be more careful about acting as the face of the mayor and his suckups by challenging the veracity and purpose of stories leaked or brought by them..."

http://sacramentopress.com/headline/25463/City_Council_unanimously_agrees_to_hire_consultant_for_audit

That is you, right?

You also commented on Mike's Kings story when it mentioned nothing about a supporting a new arena or how winning a game would help them get an arena. Just a Kings win. "One win ain't gonna get 'em that there arena."

http://sacramentopress.com/headline/24398/Kings_streaking_comes_to_an_end

That's you too, right? You seem to like to bring up the arena issue when the Kings are involved in a story. That's proven in Mike's story and your first comment above in this article. Am I wrong anywhere. Point it out.

What you call tripe is really truth and I don't need Google to look up the 669 comments you wrote on this site to prove my point.

I've read what you've wrote. You insult readers and writers who have a different opinion than you and take away from the article that was written. I don't care how many comments you have all over the Internet the past 10 years. It still adds up to no articles.

You haven't even proved that I'm wrong in what I say with anything other than what you write. Back it up, show some facts. Type in whatever you want after this. I'll read it, but I'm done talking.

Ok bbbbmer. Every Kings and arena article written on SP is really meant to get readers to vote yes for a new arena. Really?

If I write about the Sacramento River Cats am I trying to say the Cats need a new stadium? If I write about NBA draft prospects passing through Sac am I trying to convince people to watch college basketball? I plan on writing about both very soon but not for those reasons.

Go through the 31 articles I’ve written on SP and you find that I’ve written about the arena issue as many times as you’ve posted an article on this site. Zero.

This article is strictly about the Tyreke winning ROY and nothing else, no matter what you think.

I love writing about the Kings and the NBA and I was fortunate enough to be born in a city with a franchise.

I’m a student at Sac City College about to get my AA in journalism and transferring to Azusa Pacific in the fall to further my studies. I’m also a sports writer for the school’s paper Express and previously worked on the online version www.saccityexpress.com last semester.

For almost 4 months I worked beside SP staff and the interns and they’ve done nothing wrong in terms of journalism. They report the facts and they’re unbiased. Journalism is not pure investigative journalism into every hard hitting issue Sac has. There’s a lot more to Sac than that – sports teams, entertainment, community events, and more. They’re not KCRA or SacBee but they do a good job at what they do.

I came onto SacPress when my instructor gave me an assignment and told my classmates to post it on this site.

http://sacramentopress.com/headline/16755/Mayor_Johnson_Operation_Sellout_on_track

For my final project I chose to do a personality profile and I wanted to do it on Tyreke. I got permission from the Kings, went to a few practices and a game turned in my story and posted here.

http://sacramentopress.com/headline/19312/Kings_rookie_Evans_among_the_best_in_the_NBA

SP liked my story, and when the Kings wanted to start the Tyreke Evans ROY campaign with them, they asked me and I accepted, They also brought on Marty Mac to write recaps of the Kings game. So every article after January under the RekeROY storyline is for that campaign, nothing else.

SP is not a pawn for KJ, an arena plan or anything for that matter. They don’t praise one thing and shoot down all who oppose it. They do their jobs as journalists and run a respectable publication.

If you have anything to blame SP for their KJ coverage, blame that they’re 5 blocks away from City Hall, closer than any other media outlet in town. It’s literally a walk away and the fact that Kathleen goes to the press conference every Tuesday morning means that they care about covering events that involves the city’s mayor, no matter who that may be now or in the future.

So, bbbbmer, before you go judging an article based on something entirely off topic, get off the comment thread and write an article like many other community contributors on this site do and back it up.

You think that articles on the Kings and updates on the arena issue are meant to “convince voters to support the arena 'deal”?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but what you wrote is baseless, false and, truthfully, unintelligent.

You're right on Wade and Evans aren't the only ones only averaging 20-5-5. Joe Johnson and LeBron James also average those numbers. Only Wade and Evans add 1.5 SPG to those numbers.

I consider Evans to be one of the best because of how well he's played against star talent very early in his career. He's shown to be a consistent scorer, a very good rebounding guard and an unselfish ballhandler very early in his career. He's maintained a great all-around game not just against sub 0.500 teams.

He's played against the best point guards and played well. Teams realize that he commands a double team to cover him Brandon Roy wasn't on him for most of the game, but was on the court enough to say that Evans is "almost un-guardable."

What impresses me most about Evans more than anything else is his calm demeanor. It's like he's a veteran. I've never saw or heard of him complaining. He just finds out what he did wrong and tries to fix it.

Just my opinion. There are 450 roster spots in the NBA. I'm sure Evans is in at least in the top 45.

Omri Casspi: You became the first player from Israel to play in the NBA and scored 17 points in your debut against the Oklahoma City Thunder. How does it feel to represent Israel in the NBA and how special was that night for you knowing that your fans were watching in Israel?

Casspi: A year ago you were still playing basketball overseas. How different is the NBA compared to playing in Israel?

Tyreke Evans: Last Friday, your assignment was to guard, who is widely considered the best point guard in the NBA, Chris Paul. You took out a major facet of his game by limiting him to four assists and he turned the ball over four times. How did it feel to go against a top five player in the league?

Kevin Martin: You've played with this team through the pre-season and for three regular season games. What is different about this year's team?

Martin: How has Tyreke Evans impacted the way you play?

Desmond Mason: In the first two games against the Thunder and the New Orleans Hornets you were in familiar places because you played for both teams. You also played at the Ford Center for the Hornets when they were displaced because of Hurricane Katrina. You saw a lot of familiar faces on both teams. What did it feel like going into those two games?

Mason: There's a video on YouTube where you do a rap for the Hornets. Do you have any plans for making one for the Kings, especially while Flavor Flav is in town?

Sean May: At 6'9, your starting at center, which seems short compared to many other NBA teams. You usually play power forward, are you accustomed to playing against other centers?

May: You've missed a lot of games due to injury and weight issues, but you came to training camp in great shape, you've played well and you're starting now. Do you feel like you have something to prove? Why or why not?

Francisco Garcia: Your arm injury sidelined you until the NBA All-Star break but your impact can still be felt with you mentoring Omri Casspi, even before the injury. Why did you take him under your wing?

Garcia: What do you like about Casspi's game?

Jason Thompson: You've had some tough assignments early this season playing Emeka Okafor, David West, Zach Randolph and, who is widely considered the greatest power forward ever to play, Tim Duncan. What have you learned from playing against them?

Thompson, May, Garcia, Donte Greene: Many athletes use Twitter to interact with their followers. What's your view on using Twitter?

Thompson, May, Gacia, Greene: Do you think the NBA established fair restrictions on the use of Twitter?

Rookies: What have you learned in your short time in the league?

Any Player: What is your role for the team?

Any player: How has the revamped coaching staff helped you so far?
