In The Flow is coming this weekend!
*Note, there is a bias here because I'm directly involved with the Festival's organizaiton, etc. -RH In The Flow 3! The 3rd annual In The Flow Jazz/Improvisational Festival will be at Luna's Cafe, R5 Records and Beatnik Studios this weekend (Friday, 5/14 through Monday, 5/17). The lauded young improvisational music festival will feature musicians from all over the West Coast, including Vinny Golia, Nels Cline, (guitarist from super group Wilco and the Nels Cline Singers), Lovely Builders, Gerry Pineda, Tony Passarell, Henry Robinett and many more. In The Flow 3 Festival, produced by area guitarist Ross Hammond along with a group of volunteers, will post up over thirty music groups at tw

Why is this issue even presented? Is it because McCarty wants the North Oak Park/Med Center neighborhood in his district so that the money and votes go toward his re-election? It's politics as usual and it should come as no surprise that these fools won't listen to the community speaking directly in front of their faces. This is embarrassing to watch, and I for one hope that McCarty, Sheedy and Cohn don't see another term on the City Council board. I'm in Cohn's district and will be voting for his opponent next election.

So what does that mean? Because people live in a poor neighborhood that they're not allowed to voice their opinions about where the neighborhood lies? That they can't say that they don't want the public high school and the Med Center to go to McCarty's district? That's quite a statement. This will be interesting to watch. City Council should leave Oak Park and (South Land Park) alone.

It's coming from the fact that Oak Park is their home and they don't want to see if divided for political purposes. I'm not sure why you bring up the crime rate and unemployment. What does that have to do where the neighborhood begins and ends?
