Sacramento- Neighbors were awoken by an explosion this morning and looked out their windows to discover smoke and flames coming from the barber shop next door to them. Just before 1:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, Sacramento Fire responded to a structure fire at the 3B's Barber Shop and Beauty College on Grand Ave and Dry Creek Rd. Marcellous York, an employee at the barber shop (living next door), said he woke up to a loud explosion and noticed there was smoke coming from the shop and called 911. Sacramento CA- A Rancho Cordova man dies in a motorcycle vs construction equipment accident in Citrus Heights. Just before 3 a.m. Friday morning, CHP and Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to a motorcycle accident on Sunrise Blvd just before Sunset Ave in Citrus Heights .Per CHP, a Sacramento County construction crew was doing sweage work and witnessed a Rancho Cordova man, possibly traveling at a high rate of speed on a full dressed Yamaha, hit a cone in the contruction zone. He lost control sliding under a utility trailer. The motorcycle continued moving down the road and slammed into another truck in the construction zone. Midtown, Sacramento, CA An early morning, wayword, DUI driver, gets his car stuck on the tracks. Per Sac PD at 2:11 a.m. Tuesday, they responded to a call for a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks at the 19th and N street railroad crossing. When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had made a right turn onto the railroad tracks and high centered on the tracks, delaying Union Pacific trains until 3 a.m. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence. Sacramento, CA, Neighbors wake to flames and sparking power lines in Downtown Sacramento Around 2:45am Monday, the Sacramento City Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 1314 26th St. Neighbors were evacuated as the fire threatened surrounding homes. A resident of one of the evacuated homes said, "At 2:45 in the morning, you're woken up to a fire, it's scary, it's a heart pounding experience".
