It was Mayor Cabaldon that said the region is on board. Obviously there are individuals opposed but Cabaldon is stating West Sac (the general majority) are on board with wanting the Kings to stay.
I was looking forward to seeing Pollard's outfit all week and after three separate trips around the course (walking around for 30 minutes each time!), I left Woodcreek only wondering. I had an idea of the hilarity, but wow. Pollard's attire wildly exceeded my expectations. Wildly. Great article and pictures!
The Sacramento Gold won their final regular season game against San Diego Boca FC 2-0. This means they will meet the Bay Area Ambassadors again, Sunday July 11 at 6:30 p.m. at River City High School. The HS is located at 2801 Jefferson Blvd. Tickets are $5 at the gate. Should be a great game. Watch for #18, Clemente Fonseca. Such an exciting player!
To answer Dale, so far the conversations only relate to city-wide issues, but in speaking with Barr and Blank there is always the possibility to expand to county-wide issues. Jim, the July 13 conversation will discuss the city budget but more specifically the question will be posed, "what are we willing to do without and what residents are willing to do about the rest?" As for what happens with the results, they are not circulated or forwarded to any city officials. The goal is only to create the dialogue and receive varying opinions from different communities and community members.
The Sacramento Gold squad is composed of a wide variety of players. Gold has many ex-collegiate players and former professional players from Mexico and the United States, as well as a few high school players. Anthony Chimienti has played for the US men's beach soccer team, Ivan Bermudez (mentioned above) has played professionally in Mexico and Max Herrera made international appearances for the El Salvador national team. Hope this helps.
Picture number four is heart-wrenching!
I followed up with Mr. Brown regarding your inquiry. He said that while the event is primarily for the homeless it is a public event and they will not be screening people, just taking people at their word. He did want to stress that there are no employers there looking to hire, rather, employment services to assist to process: resumes, proper dress attire, interview techniques, etc. There is a short intake system in place at the beginning of the day but afterwards, you are welcome to accessing the job fair resources.
Wow! Driving home I heard the news Culpepper had signed with a UFL team accompanied with the talk about how dreadful of a move it must be for him. I didn't even realize at the time the Mountain Lions are Sacramento's own. You hit it on the head, they definitely just got a whole lot more interesting. I would absolutely go to a game (or four). I do feel bad for Culpepper... he's never really seemed comfortable after that injury.
Programs like these are so beneficial for youth development: physical, social, emotional. It's great to see kids of all abilities being able to participate, and for free!
It will be exciting to see what the new promotions will be this season. Having an exciting player like Tyreke Evans, in the running for Rookie of the Year, definitely contributes. Will Kings fans notice the management change on the court and/or in the arena?

Touche. The Cleveland Browns relocated to Baltimore and one year later got a team back in Cleveland with new ownership so it's possible. It sounds like if the Kings stay this year, then we will be revisiting this entire pain-staking situation again next spring.
