Burgers and Brew is the best restaurant in Davis! Lucky you, Sacramento. Mmm.. avocado tofu burger...
Breath of fresh air ;) Chris, nice story. And awesome job lifting spirits on the street. It's the little, albeit carcinogenic, things that count!
In reference to this part of your article: "the “strong mayor” push that ended today" What happened today? Was the petition rejected or something??
What a great experience! If you're performing again, please post the information. I would love to attend.
I guess that's true. Technically. But KM didn't have to release it to anyone. SHE is Sacramento for Obama AND Sacramentans for Accountable Government. What is Sacramento for Obama's policy about using the database for non-obama issues???
I just wanted to mention that it's been almost three weeks since I unsubscribed to the Sacramentans for Accountable Government email list, and I haven't received any further messages (I still receive my Obama mail). Full text of the original email: Dear ---, In November, you voted for change -- in our city and in our nation. Now the work begins -- right here in Sacramento -- to change our community into the world-class city it can be. Mark your calendar and join us on Monday, January 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Grand (1215 J Street, downtown Sacramento, across from the Sheraton), when our new grassroots organization, Sacramentans for Accountable Government, will hold its first meeting. Mayor Kevin Johnson will be there. So please join us and be a part of our effort to bring a more responsive and accountable government to Sacramento. See you on Monday! Hey, I got that email from Kim Mack - Sacramentans for Accountable Government and I was not happy. A link on the email (I think it was "edit preferences") showed they had my name, phone number, and email address, and that they got it from "Friends of Obama." I attempted to complain about it on the Obama website, but their contact page now pushes to change.gov. I went so far as to try to change my privacy settings on that website, but couldn't find the option. The privacy policy itself only mentions third parties in reference to pixel tags (for tracking use/receipt of web pages and emails). "These files enable us or these third parties to recognize a unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn which advertisements bring users to our website and to deliver advertising targeted to your interests. The information that is collected and shared using these pixel tags and similar technology is anonymous and not personally identifiable." "We configure our list server software to refuse to divulge the email addresses of our list subscribers to anyone other than those whom we authorize." Evidently they authorized Kim Mack to use my email address... Questionable.
is O3 bad for humans, as well as the environment? i.e. should i worry about going outside on high ozone days?
Thanks for the article. I just started to bird watch actively (take pictures and look them up during and after my walks). I will definitely try to make it to the show.
those pictures are beautiful!

Decreasing student tuition... never seen that before. I don't know how they can afford it, but it's a wonderful thing to do. Really well-written article, Sheila.
